Concrete soffit insulation is one of the most technically demanding commercial insulation applications. Why Insulate Concrete Soffits?

• Part L compliance — exposed soffits over unheated spaces (car parks, undercrofts) must meet minimum U-values

Fire Rating Requirements

The fire rating of soffit insulation is critical, particularly in car parks and escape routes. Nexseal LE closed-cell spray foam with DC315 intumescent coating achieves Euroclass B-s2-d0 — the highest classification available for spray foam systems. This meets Part B requirements for car parks, commercial buildings and buildings with sleeping accommodation.

The DC315 intumescent coating is applied over the cured spray foam. In a fire, it expands to form a protective char layer that insulates the foam beneath, preventing flame spread and limiting smoke generation.

U-Value Requirements Under Part L
